As a women's historian, often I notice the gaps in syllabi and books, especially as they pertain to girls' and women's lives. Linda Tuhiwai Smith's decolonial methods have resonated with me and my classmates, and I look forward to introducing undergraduate students to her work as we explore the hidden gendered history within a photograph.
